Reporting & Analytics

‘Nobody trusts the reporting’ is never a dashboard problem. It’s a definitions problem: three teams computing ‘revenue’ three ways, pipelines that break silently, numbers that change after the meeting. We fix it at the layer where trust is actually decided — modeled data, agreed definitions, quality checks — then the dashboards take care of themselves.

What You Get

One version of the truth, defended by checks.

Metrics defined once

A semantic layer where revenue, churn, utilization — your key numbers — are defined in one place and reused everywhere.

Breakage announced, not discovered

Freshness and quality checks on every feed behind a dashboard. When a number is stale, the dashboard says so.

Self-serve without chaos

Business users explore governed data themselves, inside guardrails — instead of exporting to spreadsheets that fork the truth.

Decisions, faster

Reporting cycles that took days of assembly collapse to a refresh. Your analysts analyze; they stop copy-pasting.

Scope

What’s included.

  • Metric definition workshops — the key numbers, agreed with the people who own them
  • Semantic / modeling layer — one definition per metric, versioned and documented
  • Dashboard build — executive and operational reporting in your BI tool
  • Freshness & quality monitoring — every critical feed checked and alerted
  • Self-serve enablement — governed datasets and training for your team
  • Report rationalization — the 200 unused reports retired, the 12 real ones made excellent
FAQ

Questions about this service.

We have dashboards already. Why don’t people use them?
Usually because the numbers were wrong once in a meeting that mattered. Trust is rebuilt by fixing definitions and adding visible freshness checks — then usage follows. We start with the Reporting Review to prove where trust actually broke.
Which BI tool should we use?
The one your team will open. We’re tool-agnostic across the majors; the semantic layer underneath matters more than the chart library on top, and it survives a tool change.
Can you fix just one department’s reporting?
Yes — one domain per phase is how we scope it. Finance first is the most common start, because its definitions discipline everything downstream.
What do you need from our team?
The people who own the metric definitions, for a few workshops. If leadership won’t agree on what ‘active customer’ means, no tool will save the dashboard — the workshops are where that gets settled.
