Cloud Migration

Migrations fail on sequencing, not effort: the hardest workload moved first, dependencies discovered mid-flight, the old bill running beside the new one for a year. We sequence by risk — foundation first, easy wins early, hard workloads with evidence behind them — and every move is reversible until it’s proven.

What You Get

Moved once, moved right, nothing stranded.

Risk sequenced, not discovered

Workloads ordered by dependency and difficulty, with the first migrations chosen to teach the team and prove the pattern.

Foundation before workloads

The landing zone — security, networking, cost guardrails — exists before anything lands on it. No migrating into a mess and calling it done.

No double-bill drift

A cutover plan with dates and decommission steps, so the old environment actually turns off.

Performance proven, not promised

Each workload benchmarked before and after. Slower-and-dearer is a failed migration, and the plan treats it that way.

Scope

What’s included.

  • Estate assessment — workloads, dependencies, and migration candidates ranked
  • Landing zone build — the receiving foundation (see Cloud Architecture)
  • Migration waves — sequenced plan with cutover and rollback per workload
  • Data migration — movement with validation: counts, checksums, reconciliation
  • Cutover execution — with your team, on your change calendar
  • Decommission & cost check — old resources off; new bill verified against the plan
FAQ

Questions about this service.

How long does a migration take?
A pilot wave — two or three representative workloads — lands in weeks and calibrates everything after it. Full estates vary; the assessment produces a wave plan with dates you can hold us to, rather than a single heroic deadline.
Can we migrate just the data platform?
Yes, and it’s the most common scope: warehouse and pipelines move first because they’re self-contained and the savings are immediate. Application migration can follow its own plan.
What if a workload shouldn’t move?
Then the assessment says so. Some workloads belong on-prem or with a SaaS replacement; a migration plan that moves everything regardless is sales, not engineering.
Do you work with our existing IT team?
Always — migrations fail socially more often than technically. Your team runs the target state, so they’re in the work from the first wave, not handed a fait accompli.
